Snake Alley
The appropriately named Snake Alley consists of five half-curves, two quarter-curves and drops 58 feet over a distance of 275 feet. Constructed in 1894, this landmark was built to connect the residential district at the top of the bluff with the commercial district below. Today, Snake Alley hosts an annual art fair and is a challenging leg of the Snake Alley Criterium, a yearly bike race through the city.
